Source material for creating a new instantiation of this TV prop.
The C&FW had a little known branch line that left the main line between Melton and Skidmore and ran to Hooterville and on to Pixley. At some point the trestle connecting the branch to the main was destroyed thus isolating the branchline. Service on the branch was provided by the Hooterville Cannonball which consisted of a steam locomotive and a single combine for freight and passengers. Between Hooterville and Pixley was the Shady Rest Hotel that was run by Joe who was movin' kinda' slow. The hotel was on a bluff and the railroad stopped at a small passenger platform below. The platform appeared in many scenes, some of which are included below.
